Fourth in a series of Oat-based DIY self-care skin care projects (say that three times fast!). So far we have suggested combining oats with Honey, Salt and Apple Cider Vinegar to beautify you from head-to-toe! Now we recommend an Oat, Grapefruit and Milk combo to get your skin glowing along with the spring blooms. Read on for the full how-to:

Can you believe it is March 24th?! We are already almost a fourth of the way into 2021! Summer is just around the corner and I hope we are all able to be outside and enjoy it.

This week for DIY Wednesday, I am going to highlight a grapefruit and oatmeal face mask for GLOWING skin!

All throughout March I have stuck with an oatmeal theme and this week is no different. Oats repair, moisturize and soothe the skin due to having high levels of antioxidants and natural anti-inflammatory properties. While the natural acids in grapefruit gently exfoliate and brighten skin as well as clean out your pores. 

What You Need:

  • Juice from ½ grapefruit
  • ½ cup cooked and cooled oatmeal (not the instant kind)
  • ½ cup milk (full fat preferably)

How to Make It:

  • First, make your oatmeal and let it cool. Feel free to grind up oats if you would like a finer, gentler mask.
  • Then, mix all your ingredients together until fully combined.

How to Use It:

  • Apply on a freshly washed, clean face.
  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Scrub lightly and once finished, rinse off with lukewarm water and / or a wet washcloth.
  • Finish up by doing your regular skincare routine.
